Dear NMEA Members,
NMEA is working diligently to support you during the Pandemic. Bringing music back to our communities and providing worthwhile educational experiences for you and your students is one of our top priorities. After much consideration, for participation in this year’s All-State Conference and Festival, NMEA is implementing a mandatory vaccination policy for all participants and chaperones. Masks will be required by all participants at all times. At this time the Pioneer Center is requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test 72 hours prior to entering their hall. Our rehearsal location, the University of Nevada, Reno, is implementing a vaccination requirement for all students for the upcoming semester. Participants must upload proof of at least the first dose of vaccination with audition materials and must be able to provide proof of complete vaccination by March, 1 2022. With many of our participants traveling across the state, NMEA does not have the means to provide testing prior to travel or testing on site for our performers or chaperones. The safety of our members and student participants is important to our organization and we are notifying you to allow for ample planning time for students and chaperones to take the necessary steps to allow for participation in our All-State Conference.
