||Jeff Williams has volunteered hundreds of hours with the Foothill Marching Band since 2014. He served as an instructor during our summer band camps and he regularly attended evening rehearsals and weekend competitions. He traveled with us to Bands of America Competitions, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Tournament of Roses Parade. He volunteered all of these hours without any request or mention of compensation. In May of 2018, Jeff Williams was called on to serve as Project Facilitator for the Clark County School District Secondary Music, Dance, and Theatre Department, a position held for over a decade by Sherri Manning. I know that this decision weighed heavy on his heart as his dedication to his students is second to none. Eventually, he found a suitable replacement for his students at Miller Middle School and accepted the position with SMDT. He was responsible for observing and supervising hundreds of middle school arts teachers in CCSD. In 2019 he was appointed to be the Coordinator of the SMDT Department where he oversees the largest performing arts enrollment in the nation. CCSD has been recognized by NAMM as one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” for 21 years in a row.
