The President’s budget proposes the elimination of Title IV-A, a block grant which can support music as part of a “well-rounded education.”

On March 12, President Donald Trump unveiled his budget for Fiscal Year 2020, which proposes eliminating funding for Title IV, Part A.

Title IV, Part A, also known as the Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Grant, is a flexible block grant authorized at $1.6 billion. Congress created the program in 2015 to support safe students, effective use of technology, and a well-rounded education, which includes music.
